Senate to examine impact of EU-ETS on airlines

ALPA’s First VP Captain Sean Cassidy will testify at a Senate hearing tomorrow on the European Union’s Emission Trading Scheme (EU-ETS).  The hearing will focus specifically on the impacts of the EU-ETS on the domestic airline industry.  ALPA opposes the scheme as an unfair tax on the airline industry and revenue grab by the EU that violates U.S. sovereignty and will ultimately reduce the ability of U.S. airlines to invest in emission-reduction technology.
