Furloughs continue; ALPA calls on Congress, Administration for solution

As FAA furloughs and resulting flight delays continue today, ALPA is urging Congress and the Administration to end furloughs of critical front-line safety professionals. ALPA also is supporting legislation sponsored by Sen. Blunt (R-MO) that would give the FAA increased funding flexibility to protect air traffic controllers from furloughs and avoid unnecessary damage to the national airspace system.

ALPA President Lee Moak wrote to Senator Blunt late last week thanking him for seeking this solution:  Read the letter here.
